The Church of the Happy Chicken Welcomes You!

Uh, I've only just discovered this.

I think the name of the site speaks for itself.....

Haven't written in several days... so I decided not to be overly picky about my 'return blog' (if'n ya knows what i means).
Right now, I'm quite amused by this page: Budgetbusting Costumes. It tells you what you need, where to go, and how much you'll be spending on costumes such as Xena, Jedi knights, The Matrix, Gladiator, and a few others. Beyond 2 thousand bucks for the Jedi one! (lightsabers ain't cheap)

Hey. I know you were wondering how to carve your pumpkin, weren't you?!
Of course you were ! ! ! !
check out this site: Jack-O-Lantern.com
Ya know, I just never think of offering a link to this site because I assume everyone knows about it ! ! ! Well, if ya don't, and if you're at all like me, you should know about it :) HowStuffWorks - Learn how Everything Works!
Anthrax information. This link is to the Centers for Disease Control's press releases: CDC Media Relations: News Archives. Good info on anthrax.
Right now, my blog has the banner at the top of the page.... I'm working to get rid of that. But since the banner changes, and since I noticed a link that I actually liked, I thought I'd give it a permanent link here: "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi. An Arab-American talks of attitudes he has encountered since 9/11.
About that site I just mentioned, don't check it out just for the events of 9/11 -- it is an extraordinary site, with a handful of 'before' photos, and a tremendous amount of 'afters.'

Really worth a look.
I'll leave this link, although it's in the middle of the 'memorial' photos.
likeanorb > photos > world trade center explosion
WOW.
I was just surfing about.... And found this.
There are 18 photos of a person who works in NYC taken *as* the event of September 11 were unfolding.
likeanorb > photos > world trade center explosion This is *very much* worth taking a look at. One of the photos was close to 300kb (for those of you with dial-up modems like me), but most of them are much smaller (many around 50kb). Patience for the photos to load was never a problem for me except with that largest one. But the photos are all progressive jpegs, loading as you watch. There are some words about each photo.
I dunno.... I was very glad to happen upon this site....
I don't currently know enough about political systems to say '*what* I am.' I think only of the new Pearl Jam song I've heard:
I ain't no socialist. I ain't no capitalist. I ain't no Republican, no Democrat.

However, I have been quite surprised by how much I am in agreement with the World Socialist Web Site's articles regarding the happenings following the tragedy of September 11, 2001.

Therefore, I offer these links:

US food drops: a cynical propaganda exercise

Bush's economic plan: a wartime gift to corporate America

More letters on "Why we oppose the war in Afghanistan"
I've not read all of these, but I agree with the person who writes, "I am certain that the majority of Americans and Europeans would not support this war if the facts were reported in an unbiased and honest way to them by the wider media."

Bush's war at home: government censorship, secrecy, and lies

Civilian casualties mount in Afghanistan

Ah....
I can only imagine some people's responses to these articles. To those of you who are friend and family, please e-mail me and discuss as desired.....

Some problem with Blogger.com, perhaps....
The photos are here: my mac.com page.
I can't seem to edit the 12:44am blog that I just did. Follow the link above, and go to the Fort Mifflin page.
Hey! So, uh, last night I went on a 'ghost tour' of Philadelphia's Fort Mifflin. I took some 116 photos while there, many of which have *orbs*, whatever *that* may be!!! The tour was hosted in part by these folks: Philadelphia Ghost Hunters Alliance. Can't say I much liked the guy from there, but the tour itself was quite good :)

For some of my photos from there (it was a digital camera), go to

Okay. I read this article: September 11, 2001: Reflections on the events of September 11. It's by Scott Simon, host of NPR's Weekend Edition. He's a Quaker, but not completely pacifist.... Food for thought....
There's a link on Quaker.org to this. I've not finished reading, but it's an excellent article by NPR's Scott Simon. Again, I'm not in complete agreement.... I'm just giving links to things that intrigue me.
September 11, 2001: Reflections on the events of September 11
Here's a post by the web meister at Quaker.org. It's a crime, not a war. I've become quite fond of Quakers; their stance on war is also my own.
I suppose it may be a bit confusing that my blogs are reverse-chronological. I'm looking at what's up in the US of A since the September 11 chaos. (chaos for us, not necessarily for the ... perpetrators.

Good articles from the World Socialist Web Site.
I don't claim any political party, but these articles often speak my mind....
The political roots of the terror attack on New York and Washington

Why the Bush administration wants war

Where is the Bush administration taking the American people?
This site has scads of stuff on the current goings-on in the USA. MotherJones.com -- News and Resources for the Skeptical Citizen They had a banner there the other day that linked to ... peaceflags.org. I printed a US flag that has the stars arranged in a peace sign. Not sure if I'll put it in my car or what, though....
disinformation | september 20 speech to the us house of representatives
I'm not going to read it all right now....

I don't know a *lot* about politics -- I don't even know squat about Netanyahu ('cept that he's *not* American 'n all) -- but it seems there's so much "America is so good" stuff going on.... It just bugs me.

Are there good things about America? Well, sure....
Are there some really rotten things about America? You bet.

When I went to Costa Rica, I said something about 'Americans' and a Costa Rican said, "We are all Americans." North, South, Central America.... About the whole blasted hemisphere is 'America'.... So I try to avoid the term... in favor of something that refers more to the USA. But I slip a lot. Especially lately....

Anyway.
Gonna look at some other stuff on the www.... post some more later.....
Is anyone else scared shitless about the stuff 'the blessed U.S. government, keeper of liberty, most sacred of nations' is up to?! Here's an article at disinformation disinformation | september 20 speech to the us house of representatives ... Benjamin Netanyahu's Sept 20 speech to the House of Representatives.... He calls Washington, DC 'the capital of liberty.' I haven't even read much further. The US of A is SOOO self-righteous. Yeah, I'm a US citizen.... I can't believe the stuff our leaders come up with.
